What is a loop? Learn to tie a loop in a bow
What is a loop or D-LOOP?

The word LOOP means loop, and di loop means a D-shaped loop - this loop closes on the compound drain and the location of the beam.

What is the use of a loop in a bow?

They use a device called a release to draw compound drains, which is a mechanical finger. The loop is closed at the point of the knockout and the beam is placed on the drain and pulled by the release.

Loop yarn is made of non-elastic knitted polyester yarn. The diameter of these yarns is 4 to 5 mm.

How does the loop ring close on the bow drain?

If you have prepared the loop yarn in size, cut it to 11 to 13 cm, then burn the beginning and end with a lighter flame. After specifying the exact place where the arrow is placed on the drain (knock point), we tie it with special knots like the image below. The beam is located exactly in the center of the loop and between the two nodes.

The loop or D-loop does not necessarily have to be threaded, and aluminum loops are available in the archery equipment market, which are fastened with screws on the compound drain, usually not used by professional shooters.

The location of the loop and knock points in professional compound bows is very important and is usually done by professional trainers and archers. Which is measured by a special ruler.

Archers must always make sure that the loop knots are tight before pulling the bow, as opening it while pulling the bow can injure the archer and those in front of the bow.

Note: In some training and hunting compound bows that do not use the release to pull it, the loop does not close and usually the bow is pulled with a fever (finger guard).
